Platelet Rich Plasma | PRP
PRP is one of the newest regenerative medical tools in anti-aging medicine, and its beneficial effects on skin rejuvenation are well known. It can be used topically for its stimulatory effects on dermal fibroblasts, in the form of a clot as a mask, or, more frequently, by spraying it. It is often used as a topical therapy after chemical or physical peels or after laser resurfacing, as a biostimulator of skin regeneration. We also use plasma rich in growth factors in the form of a clot to fill scars, wrinkles, or furrows such as those in the orbital socket (‘tear through’). We can use PRP intradermally, as mesotherapy, for the treatment of wrinkles, elastosis or dyschromia. Intradermal administration of platelet-rich plasma has been shown to stimulate the production of type I collagen by fibroblast cells.
