Lifestyle Medicine
Lifestyle Medicine is a branch of medicine that aims to maintain optimal health and prevent, treat and reverse chronic diseases at all stages of life. The health interventions used in Lifestyle Medicine include evidence-based behavioural strategies, while considering equity and sustainability, to improve self-care skills to optimise nutrition, sleep hygiene, stress management, social connectedness, sexual health and fertility, physical activity and minimise substance use and environmental exposures. At Kuzmar Clinic we are specialists and we offer you different intervention packages to change or improve your Lifestyle.
Nutrition Intervention
Diet as medicine is an important part of the treatment and prevention of some chronic diseases. The fact that diet, healthy or unhealthy, can affect an individual's health is well documented and recognised. We offer different Nutrition packages and courses for professionals and the general community to learn how to improve the quality of diet, how to add nutrient and fibre rich foods, which can reduce the symptoms of disease and improve quality of life. We also offer a Weekly Planning service for you and/or your family (with any special health condition); for example: you will know what and how to prepare all the meals for your children: breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner, etc.
Sleep Hygiene Intervention
Healthy sleep is important for physical and mental health, as it improves productivity and quality of life. Sleep hygiene’ is the term used to describe good sleep habits. Much research has been conducted to develop guidelines and tips designed to improve good sleep, a good strategy can provide long-term solutions to sleep difficulties. From children to older adults, you can benefit from our service.
Stress Management Intervention
Stress is a normal and unavoidable part of life. However, going through prolonged periods of stress or dealing with major or unexpected situations or events in life can start to affect your physical and mental health. At Kuzmar Clinic we offer you different alternatives so that you can relax and improve your quality of life.
Social Connections Intervention
Not everyone knows how to handle and how to be presented at a social event: a christening, marriage, public presentation, graduation, meeting with childhood friends, job interview, etc; can affect your quality of life. At Kuzmar Clinic we provide you with the service, we prepare you and give you the necessary tools so that you can improve your lifestyle and gain enough personal confidence to face the different challenges of the moment.
Sexual Health and Fertility Intervention
Since reduced satisfaction and sexual dysfunctions are closely related to infertility and its treatment, couples may benefit from sex therapy and support during the infertility treatment process. At Kuzmar Clinic we offer you different medical treatments aiming to improve your Lifestyle.
Physical Activity Intervention
The important health benefits of physical activity, including exercise, have long been recognised. In addition to reducing non-communicable diseases, regular physical activity leads to improvements in mental health, general health and cognitive function. At Kuzmar Clinic we tell you which (type), how, when and how much exercise you can do to improve your Lifestyle.
Substance Abuse Intervention
An intervention can motivate someone to seek help for alcohol or drug abuse, compulsive eating or other addictive behaviours. Find out from Kuzmar Clinic how to do it and how to make it successful.
Intervention in Environmental Exposure
Rates of metabolic diseases have increased dramatically over the last four decades. The novel contribution of chemicals (various organic and inorganic pollutants of human and natural origin) that alter environmental metabolism to various metabolic diseases (including obesity, diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) is being recognised. Increasing evidence implicates metabolism-altering chemicals as contributors to the burgeoning global pandemic of metabolic diseases. At Kuzmar Clinic we show you how to address these new risk factors.
